Meal and macro tracking without losing your mind
Meal and macro tracking in Elvyfit gives you a food diary, a ring showing the day's calories and macros, and several ways to log what you eat: search, barcode, label, text, voice and photo. You pick whichever one has the least friction at that moment.
The diary and the calorie and macro ring
Every meal you log fills the ring for the day. At a glance you see how many kcal you have left and how protein, carbs and fat are going. Meal logging and history are unlimited, including on the Free plan.
Your daily targets are not improvised by the AI. They come from your plan calculation, which starts from your questionnaire and from safety minimums that cannot be changed. How they are worked out is covered on the AI nutrition plan page. Here we focus on how you log.
You also track water, with a target that starts at 35 ml per kilo of body weight and stays between 2 and 4 liters.
Six ways to log a meal
Not every meal is logged the same way. A repeat breakfast takes seconds to search, while a restaurant dish calls for something else. This table sums up the options and what each plan includes. Photo logging is a Plus feature, and we cover it in detail on the photo calorie counter page.
| Method | How it works | Plan |
|---|---|---|
| Search | Generic catalog plus branded products. | Free |
| Barcode | Product with Elvyfit Score, checked against your allergies. | Free |
| Label scanner | Read on your phone, and the image is not saved. If it cannot read it, you can choose to send it to the AI (3 a month on Free, 40 on Plus). | Free |
| Text with AI | You describe the meal and the AI interprets it. 3 per month on Free, 60 on Plus. | Free and Plus |
| Voice | Transcribed on your phone and analyzed as text. 3 per month on Free, 80 on Plus. | Free and Plus |
| Photo | An estimate with a range, based on the image. | Plus |
A food photo gives an estimate with a range, and you can correct it before saving.
Barcode scanning, Elvyfit Score and allergies
When you scan a barcode, the app looks the product up in Open Food Facts and shows it with an Elvyfit Score from 0 to 100. The result weighs the Nutri Score (60%), additives (30%) and whether the product is organic (10%), with a cap of 49 if it contains a high risk additive. 72 additives have a catalogued risk level.
The product is also checked against the allergies from your questionnaire, which cover the 14 EU allergens plus lactose. If it finds a conflict, it flags it for you.
The label scanner reads the text on your own phone and the image is not saved. If it cannot read a label, you can choose to send it to the AI for analysis: 3 a month on Free and 40 on Plus.
Diet, recipes and shopping list
The basic diet offers one option per meal on the Free plan and five variants per meal on Plus. The shopping list is generated every week, grouped by category, and it is free. Swapping foods on the list is a Plus feature.
There are 62 recipes with photos, plus 10 supplements described in the catalog. You can import a recipe (1 per month on Free, 10 on Plus) and scan a restaurant menu (1 per month on Free, 10 on Plus). Batch cooking, for preparing several meals in one go, is Plus.

Eating out today: reserve macros for a free meal
If you know you are eating out tonight, you can reserve part of your macros up to 12 hours ahead. The reserve is shown with a band of plus or minus 15%, because nobody knows exactly what a restaurant plate will weigh.
That way you arrive at the meal with your day already balanced and nothing to make up for afterward. Elvy can also suggest that reserve from the chat, as described on the page about Elvy, the AI fitness assistant.
How it really works and what its limits are
The AI interprets what you type, say or photograph. The code does the math: grams, calories, macros and safety floors. The 334 foods in the catalog have estimated values and are marked as unverified, so treat the numbers as a useful approximation, not a lab measurement.
Elvyfit is not a medical device and does not replace a registered dietitian. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or you have or have had an eating disorder, nutrition switches to maintenance and we recommend seeing a healthcare professional.
To see what each plan includes, check the plans and pricing page. For now the app is available in Spanish only.
Frequently asked questions
How can I count macros without weighing everything?
You can search for the food, scan its barcode or label, or describe the meal with text or voice. They are all estimates and you can correct them by hand before saving. Weighing is still the most precise option, but it is not required.
What is the Elvyfit Score of a product?
It is a rating from 0 to 100 that combines the Nutri Score (60%), additives (30%) and whether the product is organic (10%). If it contains a high risk additive, it cannot go above 49. The data comes from Open Food Facts.
Can I log a restaurant meal?
Yes, in several ways: by typing or dictating it, with a photo on Plus, or by scanning the menu (1 per month on Free, 10 on Plus). On top of that, eating out mode reserves macros up to 12 hours ahead with a 15% band.
What does the Free plan include for nutrition?
Unlimited logging and history, search, barcode scanning, the label scanner, a basic diet with one option per meal and a weekly shopping list. Photo logging and meal variants are Plus.
Are the food values exact?
No. The 334 foods in the catalog have estimated values and are marked as unverified. They are good for consistent tracking, not as an exact measurement.
Is the app available in English?
Not yet. The app is only in Spanish for now. You can still log foods by search, barcode or label, but the screens and Elvy's replies are in Spanish.
